Essential Job Functions:

- Develop software in a number of various technologies including Python, (Java a plus), HTML in a Unix/Linux environment
- Work with non-technical users to understand tool requirements and to be able to quickly convert those requirements into working software components.
- Work with other software developers to develop more complex software products using the appropriate technologies
- Develop test harnesses to be able to test the developed software effectively
- Where appropriate work with QA functions to determine test plans and test cases that are require to fully test the software before release
- Research existing tools and technologies that can be used to help answer requirements

Experience

- Development of Python applications from scratch from high level requirements documents
- Development of Unix scripts required to support execution of applications etc.
- Development of Web based front ends of tools using HTML, JSP, PHP etc..
- Development of applications that use SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL etc..)
- Working with non-technical users to develop and document requirements

Skills
- STRONG PYTHON (JAVA A PLUS) DEVELOPMENT SKILLS
- Working understanding of Web technologies especially HTML
- Ability to work independently on assignments
- Knowledge of Office and Visio etc..
- Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical users so that effective software products can be developed.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills</content>
