We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in participating at a key level in web application projects. This would include past experience in design, development, and helping create a usable and stable product. This individual will be expected to collaborate with product management to help identify and prioritize product requirements; work with design consultants to design new features; and organize, participate in, and ensure the success of the ongoing development activities. This is not a web site art direction or design role. Development will be on a UNIX based platform integrating with code written in Python. \n\nPrimary Responsibilities: \n\nResponsibilities of this position include the enhancement and maintenance of existing features, design and implementation of new features, along with the development of automated unit and systems integration tests for new features. \nA successful candidate must be able to understand and assimilate the technical details of projects in development and to make immediate contributions as they learn system internals. \nRequired Experience And Skills: \n\nExperience with one or more web scripting languages, Python, PHP, Perl, etc. is required. \nParticipation in at least one successful development and deployment effort for a web application. \n5+ years software development and engineering experience, at least some of that in a Unix environment. \nExperience with writing database-backed web applications. \nStrong HTML skills and practical experience required, Javascript and CSS desired. \nExperience with one or more HTML templating languages (Velocity, etc.) is strongly desired. \nSpecific experience with open source mail, spam detection programs, and integration of database technology to customer systems a definite plus. \nExperience developing thin-client, browser-based, commercial appliance or server application administration user interfaces is a definite plus. \nExperience developing commercial or corporate intranet applications is also a plus.","company_id":null,"admin2":null,"published_at":"2005-08-05T00:00:00-07:00","link":"http://www.opensourcexperts.com/Jobs/viewjob.html?id=45","admin3":null,"location_name":null,"geom":null,"feed_url_id":18,"active":true}}
